I started a small accountancy and tax practice in my late 50s, following retirement from a much larger practice. I didn't want to work from home because I wanted the ambiance of a professional environment for the benefit of my clients and future employees. But the prospects, eg of taking out a formal lease, paying council tax and utility bills, arranging phones and broadband along with all the other issues involved in having our own office, were initially daunting. Therefore for the first time in my life I researched the serviced office market in Nottingham and initially found this rather depressing! However I then found out that number 2 King Street, which I had known for very many years as a Solicitors' office, had been turned into serviced office accommodation by Foxhall, a company with a proven track record in this field. I initially made contact via an agency but soon realised that the way to do business was to contact the proprietor Tom Wilton who has a very good hands-on approach to his business.

To cut a long story short we signed up for 6 months but soon extended this to a year and then another year and another. Originally we had only seen King Street as a stop gap but in fact we found that we and a number of other tenants found the working environment very satisfactory and we eventually stayed for nearly four years.

One of the reasons we stayed was due to the really excellent Facilities Management Team. They could provide a "Virtual Office" facility if required so that it was not necessary to recruit anyone to answer phones, deal with clients arriving at the premises, post mail along with a number of other duties. Furthermore if the telephonist was occupied when call came through, the telephonist at another Foxhall site would pick it up for us.

To conclude, we would recommend Foxhall Lodge and 2 King Street in particular to anyone starting up their business or to anyone else who wants to delegate their facilities management to a thoroughly reliable team.

Home Fundraising

When training our fundraisers, it is always difficult to maintain their concentration. Using Foxhall's facilities ensure interruptions or disruptions are kept to a minimum. Also, we don't have to worry about setting up Presentation/IT Equipment or whether the catering will be of a good standard. It is always taken care of in a professional and caring way.

The Princes Trust

The Prince's Trust moved into the Foxhall Business Centres, Foxhall Lodge in June 2011. This proved to be very easy because before our move Tom Wilton who manages the Business Centre discussed our needs and was able to accommodate these ready to move in. The move was very smooth with the facilities provided resulting in disruption to ourselves being minimal.

There is a professional feel to the location from entering the building through the secure reception system staffed by very friendly and helpful staff who make visitors welcome. The friendly professional approach is carried out by all staff members including the general support staff who are always willing to help and friendly.

The domestic facilities are very good with two fully equipped rest areas which includes all that staff would need to relax for their breaks.

Everything here is fantastic as we have all the facilities that we require for staff and volunteers of the charity. As a new business we needed somewhere quickly that catered for all our needs at a cost that was considerate towards us as a start-up. Teaching personnel have been based at Foxhall Lodge for the past four years now, I took over as Branch Manager in 2010 and from my experience I would say the service has been superb. The staff are extremely helpful, supportive and very conscientious. The building it's self is such a lovely place to work. The building has character you will not find in the modern offices, which certainly helps to make a fantastic working environment.

Most recently we needed to expand offices, and the whole process was made extremely simple by Foxhall. Everything was in place on the day of the move, all we needed to do was move in. The IT and telephone systems were in place without any issues, which certainly helped take the stress out of the process. I would say without hesitation that I would recommend Foxhall's service to anyone looking to rent office space, as my experience with them has been excellent!
